Special Announcement - Earthquake in Sichuan, China

To our colleagues and friends:

As you are aware, on Monday, May 12, 2008, a major earthquake struck China’s southwest province of Sichuan. We thank all of those who have written to us to express their concern for family and friends in China.

Water, food and emergency supplies are urgently needed to provide relief to those in the most affected areas. The Canadian Red Cross is currently accepting donations to support the relief efforts of the Chinese Red Cross already underway. The Government of Canada announced on May 15, 2008 that it will match donations of Canadian individuals to humanitarian organizations assisting with the relief efforts in China.
