Steve Jackson is
a principal in the firm Forstrom Jackson. He was called to the Bar of British
Columbia in 1989 and of the Yukon
Territory in 1993. Mr. Jackson practiced with the
firm of Swinton & Co., as an associate and then
a partner. Since 1999, he has been the principal of the Stephen Jackson Law
Corporation and he practises law through Forstrom Jackson, Barristers and
Solicitors, a partnership of law corporations.
Mr. Jackson
counsels clients on commercial litigation including securities, forestry and
construction litigation. He has also acted in a number of large
commercial crime cases.
He has appeared
before all levels of court in British
Columbia as well as the Yukon Territory Supreme and
Appeal Courts. He has acted extensively in mediations and arbitration
hearings including numerous mediations and arbitrations pursuant to the Timber
Harvesting Contract Regulation under the Forest Act, arbitrations
under the Vancouver Stock Exchange/Investment Dealers Association
Arbitration Project, and arbitration under the auspices of the Canadian
Centre for Ethics in Sport.
In regards to
securities related matters, he has appeared before all levels of court in British Columbia and
has acted for clients in investigations and hearings conducted by the
Vancouver Stock Exchange and the British Columbia Securities Commission. He
has acted for, and advised, brokers, brokerage houses, public and private
companies, investors, and investor relations firms.
